Senior: The seniors got back to winning ways with a 4-13 to 1-3 over Carrick Swans in the league quarter final on Monday. It was a good team performance will goals from Patrick Maher, Ronan O’Meara and two from Trevor Hogan. Hopefully this form will be maintained in our next North Championship game against Templederry in Nenagh on this Sunday, 10 May @ 3pm.
Junior: Lorrha were drawn in group two of the Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship. We play Burgess in our opening game and also have games against Silvermines, Borris-Ileigh and Kilruane MacDonaghs. Championship begins in three weeks
Under 21: Lorrha will play Kildangan in the quarter finals of the Under 21 ‘A’ Championship. This game is likely to take place in July.
Minor Hurling: Lorrha will play Shannon Rovers Gaels in the first round of the minor ‘A’ championship. We are also grouped with Templederry, Nenagh Éire Óg and Newport. The championship starts in early July.
Minor Football: We played Kilruane MacDonaghs in the North semi-final in Borrisokane on Wednesday (tonight) at 7.15pm.
U16: Lorrha play in the Under 16 ‘A’ Football Final on Monday next. Check website for fixture.
U14 Football: They next face Burgess in Moatfield on Wednesday (tonight) @ 6.30pm.
Tipperary: Hard luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurlers in this Sundays National League Final.
Lá na gClub: Our Lá na gClub celebrations will now take place on 17 May. A full programme of events will be in next weeks note sincluding underage blitzes, crossbar challenges as well as fun events for all the family. Millennium hurling goalkeeper Tony Reddin will also be attending.
Indoor Hurling: Indoor hurling continues in Lorrha Hall on Friday night at 7pm with Team 2 in charge.
Membership: Membership for 2009 is now available with the closing date of Sunday week, 17 May. Only fully paid up members get access to tickets to the Munster Championship game v Cork on 31 May. €40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). All players must have their membership paid before the start of the league and all membership is payable to club registrar Jack Maher or any committee member.
Tipp Draw: This is a massive source of revenue with 50% of each subscription coming back to the club. We look forward to your continued support. Any new people wishing to join should contact club coordinator Margaret Gleeson or any of the promoters. The first Draw will be held on Friday June 5th with an Audi A6 or €50,000 as first prize.
