LUCAN SARSFIELDS’ CLUB NOTES MONDAY APRIL 8th 2013

Well done to Johnny McCaffrey, Peter Kelly, Chris Crummey and the Dublin Hurlers on making it back up to Division 1A on Saturday night.

Membership is now overdue and can be paid online through our website www.lucansarsfields.ie or at the clubhouse bar. There will be a strict no pay no play policy in place this year.

Results of our 1st Golf Society outing of 2013 at the K-Club. When we arrived at the K-Club early on Saturday morning the temperature was – 4’C. Two hours later it was 12’c and a beautiful Sunmmerlike day.

The winners were: 1st Ben Quilligan 7 39points B9,

2nd Damien O’Brien 9 39 points,

1st Class 1 Aaron Callaghan 5 35 points,

1st Class 2 Michael Roche 18 34 points B9,

1st Class 3 Sean Breen 28 36 points.

Spring finally arrived for the U-9 Footballers on Saturday 6th with an away game at St. Anne’s Bohernabreena and a home game against Cuala. The Under 9s won all 5 games with some fine flowing attacking football and determined defending on a fine sunny day. Each game was interspersed with great interplay between the boys resulting in excellent team scores.

Stuck for a birthday party idea? Why not book the All Weather Pitch in Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club for games or matches and a party in the Clubhouse afterwards. Package includes the full pitch from 1.30pm to 2.30pm on a Sunday afternoon and a reserved area in the Clubhouse from 2.30pm onwards for your party. You may bring you own food but all drinks must be purchased in the Club bar. Cost is €100 for non members and €80 for members. Contact Alice on 086 0805055 for bookings. Only 1 party booking per week so book early to avoid disappointment.

For every club member who books a course in Colaiste Laichtin for July or August the club will receive €100.

Our nurseries for boys and girls born in 2006,2007 and 2008 continue every Saturday at 1.30pm on our all weather pitch at The 12th Lock. Camogie nursery at 2:15pm for girls aged 6 and over. This is your child’s chance to be coached by Dublin Senior Hurling Captain Johnny McCaffrey.

25 Card Drive continues every Friday night in the Clubhouse, €5 entry, 1st prize €50. All welcome.

This weeks lotto numbers 2-8-17-25. No winner. Next week’s jackpot will be €16,500. Seamus Clandillon’s team will be in charge next Sunday night when our sponsor will be Newcastle Golf Centre.
