LUCAN SARSFIELDS’ CLUB NOTES MONDAY DECEMBER 3rd 2012
Tickets for our Christmas Draw have now been distributed to all mentors and are available from the bar. Tickets cost €5. Top prize is €2000.

The Club Christmas Party will be on Saturday, 8th December. All adult members/players, juvenile parents and friends are invited.

U-21 Footballers play Kilmacud this Saturday 8th in the A championship q/final replay in Silver Park at 1:00pm.

Many thanks to all who supported our recent quiz,those who attended, those who donated raffle prizes, those who made donations, those who helped organise and run the quiz on the night.Thanks to quizmaster, Joe Byrne for a very entertaining quiz.Thanks to Frank Colgan, Spa Hotel for the first prize. Thanks to prize donations from Lucan Sarsfields bar and from individual club members for the second and third prizes and raffle prizes also.The three Lucan conferences of VDP are extremely grateful for everyones support to help the most needy in our midst.

Thanks to Finian Ward for his kind donation of a Christmas tree to the club. You can buy your tree from Finian at the Eurospar car park in Ballyowen Shopping Centre.

Thanks to everyone who supported the Dhani Jones hurling cup match played last Friday night and the 60 hurling questions quiz afterwards.

The Dublin Final of Scór na nÓg was held in Craobh Chiarán on Tuesday, 27th of November. Lucan Sarsfields were represented in 3 of the competition categories.Lucan Sarsfield’s excellent Grúpa Ceoil claimed County Medals. Comhghairdeas do Diarmuid Reynolds on the fiddle, Aoife Reynolds on the squeezebox, Cormac Keegan on the uilinn pipes, Aisling O’Grady on the concertina and Bennery Richard on the flute. Evan Carroll was unfortunate to miss out on a County Medal with a wonderful rendition of Patrick Kavanagh’s “My Father Played the Melodeon”. Finally, Dónal Flannery, Diarmuid Reynolds and Cathal Ó’Maolmhána excelled in the Quiz Time again, claiming the runners-up spot. The Grúpa Ceoil now progress to the Leinster semi-final which will be held in Culahill, Co Offaly on Saturday, December 15th at 3pm. All support would be greatly welcomed that day!.

Congratulations to Archbishop Ryan Senior Girls football team who won their final in Croke Park on Tuesday last. This was the first time the school won a girls football Cup since 1989. Well done to princeipal John Ring and his teachers Mr Flesk and Miss Lohan for their great work with this team.

Hard Luck to St Marys BNS who were beaten in their final in croker also last Tuesday. They will no doubt be back next year.

25 Card Drive continues every Friday night in the Clubhouse, €5 entry, 1st prize €50. All welcome.Unislim Lucan meets every Monday evening 7-8pm in the function room at Lucan Sarsfields GAA club. Club Shop opening times.Tuesday (7:30-8:30pm) & Saturdays Morning (10:30am – 11:30am) opening only until Christmas.Occasional opening during nurseries on Saturdays when staff are available. No Thursday openings until further notice. Socks, shorts etc. available from the bar during club hours.

Set Dancing classes take place every Wednesday @ 8.30pm. Everyone welcome, no partner required.
