The €500 sports voucher went to the u-14 hurling team represented by the Kelly family. Our Junior A Hurlers had a good win over Trinity Gaels 0-14 to 0-9 in the League on Tuesday. Lucan opened well with two quick points by D Needham, followed by two pointed frees from D Donnellan and T Clandillon. Trinity came back into the game strongly and led 0-8 to 0-7 at the break after further points from A Duff, A Glover (f) and T Clandillon. In the second half in a downpour, Lucan piled on the pressure with scores from D Donnellan 0-1, A Glover 0-2 (2f), D Needham 0-3, A Duff 0-1 to Trinity’s solitary point. L Strong in goal played a great game while J Twomey, C Cuggy, C Mc Sweeney and A Clarke in the backs played magnificently. Up front, A Duff and P Ward toiled relentlessly. The full team gave it their all to secure the vital two points to help us stay in Division 4. David Needham’s five points showed that he is coming back to his old again. A speedy recovery to C McSweeney. Thanks to all who helped on the night and to our small band of loyal supporters. Thanks to Philip Lanigan for taking time out of his busy schedule to present last year’s AHL Division 5 medals and League Cup now named after his father Martin. We wish Colm and Sue Sunderland and their children every good health and best wishes as they move down to the sunny south east shortly.
