LUCAN SARSFIELDS’ CLUB NOTES MONDAY MARCH 4th 2013

We were extremely saddened last week to learn of the death of Tom Duff .Tom is father of Peter and Andrew, both current players with the Club. Tom was involved himself with juvenile teams over the years and was a great promoter of the Club lotto up until his illness in recent years. He was a great character around the Club and will be sadly missed. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.

The 12th Lock Fight Night takes place this Saturday 9th March at 7:30. Tickets are selling fast and we expect to be sold out by the weekend. Tickets can be purchased from the clubhouse bar or online through our website.

Membership is now due and can be paid online through our website www.lucansarsfields.ie or at the clubhouse bar. There will be a strict no pay no play policy in place this year.

Well done to our U-9 boys footballers who won two from two against Round Towers and three from three against Naomh Olaf on Saturday morning.

Our Golf Society’s first outing is at The famous K-Club on Sat April 6th. New members are welcome and the membership fee is only €20. As members had not made reservations for the overnight at Tulfarris the Hotel has now cancelled the Friday booking. We will have our usual outing there on Saturday May 18th.

Stuck for a birthday party idea? Why not book the All Weather Pitch in Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club for games or matches and a party in the Clubhouse afterwards. Package includes the full pitch from 1.30pm to 2.30pm on a Sunday afternoon and a reserved area in the Clubhouse from 2.30pm onwards for your party. You may bring you own food but all drinks must be purchased in the Club bar. Cost is €100 for non members and €80 for members. Contact Alice on 086 0805055 for bookings. Only 1 party booking per week so book early to avoid disappointment.

We are pleased to announce that for every club member who books a course in Colaiste Laichtin for July or August the club will receive €100.

Our nurseries for boys and girls born in 2006,2007 and 2008 continue every Saturday at 1.30pm on our all weather pitch at The 12th Lock. Camogie nursery at 2:15pm for girls aged 6 and over. This is your child’s chance to be coached by Dublin Senior Hurling Captain Johnny McCaffrey.

Set dancing continues each Wednesday at 8.30pm.

25 Card Drive continues every Friday night in the Clubhouse, €5 entry, 1st prize €50. All welcome.
