No Thursday openings until further notice. Socks, shorts etc. available from the bar during club hours. There will be no boys hurling and football nursery this Saturday .The girls football nursery for girls born in 2005 and 2004 will take place as usual at 1:30pm. A White Collar Boxing fundraiser is being planned for the club in the New Year. The plan is that approximately 40 members will receive 8 weeks intensive boxing training starting in early January 2013 and following this a major White Collar Boxing event (with 19 / 20 bouts) will be held in the club at the end of February, possibly in a marquee holding up to 800 spectators. At the minute we are in the early stages of planning and various sub-committees have been formed to look after different aspects from venue to selection of boxers and fundraising (programme, sponsorship etc). I am part of a sub committee tasked with identifying people in the club who might be interested in boxing (including the 8 weeks training). A key part of the selection of boxers is that every section of the club is represented so we are looking for volunteers / nominees from each section, including parents/mentors to represent juvenile teams. Another key part is that each boxer is expected to raise a min of €400. This might sound daunting but with an entire team behind their representative boxer as well as family / friends we are hoping that each boxer will exceed the 400 target. Those who are interested in putting their name forward for boxing can reply with their name & team to me on 086-2130103(Ciaran Dunne). Set Dancing classes take place every Wednesday @ 8.30pm. Everyone welcome, no partner required. This weeks lotto numbers 4-6-15-26. No winner. Next week’s jackpot will be €4500 .Esther Keenan’s team will be in charge next Monday night when our sponsor will be Matt Reilly Auto Parts Ltd.A full list of this week’s fixtures are on our website www.lucansarsfields.ie.
