Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday September 2nd 2013

November 8, 2018

Well done to the seven Lucan minor camogie players who were on the Dublin team which secured the Leinster ‘A’ championship title after a hard fought victory over Offaly in Portlaoise on Sunday morning. Kate Whyte, Niamh Byrne, Ann-Marie Courtney, Claire Rigney (Captain), Ailbhe Ryan, Orla Beagan and Laura Morrissey all played vital roles in this close two point victory. Dublin also featured in the ‘B’ final but unfortunately a strong Wexford ‘A’ team proved too strong and ran out comfortable winners .Rachel Kenny and Amber O Connor were the Lucan representatives on the ‘B’ team.

Our U-9 hurlers were back after the summer break with 5 home games at the 12th Lock on a beautiful morning for hurling. The three team group played Cuala in a fine display of hurling from both teams with Lucan coming out on top in the three games. The summer break didn’t appear to do any harm as great skill and fine scoring was the order of the day. Our two team group played a local derby with Westmanstown winning both games scoring some exquisite points and displaying great commitment.
