We played our first game in the 12-a-side Minor Football League/Championship on Wednesday night last. Away to Glenville this was a close game for most of the hour. Points from Stephen Pratt and Daniel Dooley saw us level 0-2 each after the first quarter. A goal for Glenville then put daylight between the sides. Further points from Daniel Dooley (free) and Jason Pratt saw us 1-5 to 0-5 behind at half time. A good point from Jason Mannix left just a goal between the sides early in the second half. Glenville however then got well on top and scored 6 points while we just got one back from Jason Mannix to leave the final score Glenville 1-11 Bride Rovers 0-6. A feature of the game was the excellent display of Vincent O’Keeffe in goal.
Team: V O’Keeffe, J Kearney, M Kearney, B Collins, E Collins, S Pratt, D O’Brien, J Mannix, J Pratt, S Boyce, K Kearney, D Dooley.
