Naas 1 – 12, Round Towers 0 – 05.
Naas got back to winning ways with a well deserved ten point win over Towers in Rd 3. A Conor Mellett goal for Naas in the first half and dominant third quarter in which Naas scored seven unanswered points put them on the road to victory.
Naas dominated the first quarter and went ahead with a Ross Bergin free. Conor Mellett made it 0 – 2 to nil . After nine minutes Mellett goaled after a Ronan Joyce pass. Then Joey Cocoman (Naas) and Jason O’Brien(Towers) swapped points. Naas led 1 – 3 to 0 – 1 after 25 minutes. Two late points from Dean Houlihan and Jason O’Brien reduced the arrears to three points at the interval.
With Shane Bergin and David Gahan on top at midfield Naas dominated the first fifteen minutes and scored seven points without reply from Conor Mellett (0 – 3), Ronan Joyce (0 – 3) and Joey Cocoman (0 – 1). Two late points from Jason O’Brien and R. Scahill made no impact on the result.
