Naas Under 21s hosted Dublin University on Sunday (13th January) for their opening competitive game of the new year at Forenaughts. Naas were dominant in both territory and possession in the opening period but were unable to convert this significant advantage to scores due to an ever increasing tally of errors and turnovers which was not aided by the extremely difficult weather and playing conditions.
Naas improved their game significantly in the second period and used their tactical kicking to good effect to create field position in the early stages. The fulltime score saw Naas beat the visitors by 16 to 6.
The result continues the unbeaten record for Naas in Phase 2 of the JP Fanagan Pennant which they now lead ahead of Dublin University, Old Belvedere, UCD and IT Carlow.
Naas U21s are next in action away to Old Belvedere on Sunday 20th January which should prove to be a very exciting encounter.
