The Clonmore minor team took to the field in their first league game of 2010 on Sunday morning last. They travelled down to Fenagh on what was a beautiful morning for football but what was to prove to be a tough encounter for the young Clonmore men. An early point from David McCarney was quickly cancelled out by 3 points in 3 minutes by Fenagh. A Gary Byrne point and a goal from Mark Hennessy left the Clonmore lads trailing at half time 1-02 to 0-09.
The second half continued much like the first with the bounce of the ball not falling Clonmore’s way.
A point each from Darren McGrath and Shane McGrath and a brace from David McCarney turned out to be Clonmore’s only score’s of the second half as the Fenagh lads put on the pressure to win on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-05. Best for Clonmore on the day Ryan Hickey, Paul Hogan, David McCarney and Shane McGrath.
