Minor Hurling
Congratulations to the Minor Hurlers who had a narrow 4-8 to 3-10 win over St Peregrines in the Minor championship in Blakestown on Sunday morning. Olaf’s started slowly falling 0-4 to 0-1 behind within the opening 8 minutes but finally getting going to draw the game back level after 15 minutes. Then in a two minute spell Olaf’s knocked in 2-1 without reply to take what looked like control of the match, as first Thomas O’Reilly  and then David Lynch found the net. But Peregrine came back again and hit the back of the Olafs net themselves and at half time there was only a point in it.The second half was a tight affair and it took almost 10 minutes before the first score was registered when Colin Kyne Delaney slotted over a long free.  But Peregrines kept hitting back score for score and when Thomas O’Rielly and Stuart Kyne Delaney netted again for Olaf’s’ Peregrine hit back almost immediately with a goal and 2 points of their own. With two minutes to go Peregrines pulled the gap back to a single point but Olaf’s held on. Although it was a great all round team performance there were particularly good performances from Sean Sullivan, Cain Falkner and Kevin Quigley who formed an impressive full back line.

Minor Football
Well done also to the Minor footballers who had a good 1-9 to 1-5 win over Templeogue Synge Street at home on Friday night in a pre championship challenge match. Both sides will now go into next Sundays Championship games with a good run out under their belts and we wish the Olaf’s lads well as they take on St Patricks of Donabate at home on Sunday morning at 10.45. All support welcome.
