After a stirring campaign and a much delayed finale, the class of 2012 delivered the first title of the century with a comprehensive performance. Conditions on the day were excellent although the constant activity in Athenry each week had left the pitch a little bumpy and control difficult.
They may have had to wait over a month for the final but our Minors made little of the weeks of inaction to produce a controlled performance throughout. Unfazed by conceding a first half penalty, unfazed by being reduced to 14 men for a full quarter of the game, they pushed on and delivered a comfortable in the end six point victory.
