Moydow Harpers Vs Kenagh (Division 2) - Match Report

November 7, 2018

Moydow Harpers 1-06   Kenagh 2-10

Moydow Harpers kicked off their Division 2 campaign in glorious weather conditions at Moydow Park on Saturday evening last against neighbouring rivals Kenagh.

Kenagh started brightly and put it up to the home side with tricky forward play culminating in a few early scores. The Harpers grew into the game and started winning their fair share of possession around the field. Moydow looked threatening up front but squandered some good opportunities at times. However, they managed to register some scores to keep in touch with Kenagh.

At the other end of the pitch, the Moydow defence worked hard to put pressure on the talented Kenagh forwards and cut out several scoring opportunities. However, on some occasions, over-zealous defending lead to frees which Kenagh easily converted.

Half Time:            Moydow Harpers 0-03   Kenagh 0-06

The second half started with Moydow & Kenagh trading points. Moydow then drew level with an opportunist goal from Paul Stuart. It was all to play for with approx. 15 minutes left on the clock.

Kenagh responded in emphatic manner and scored a goal followed by a succession of quick points. Moydow worked hard to thwart the attacks but ran out of steam in the last 10 minutes, conceding a second goal, late in the game.
