O Mahonys started well and with the aid of a strong breeze and a haymaker of a shower they raced into a 1-03 to 0-00 lead in the first 10 minutes. Moylagh steadied the ship and went in at half time trailing by only 3 points.
A fine solo goal by Paddy Grall brought our lads to within a point and both sides traded scores before the experienced Colm Fanning scored an important equaliser with a classy left footed effort. Two points from Justin O Reilly put the lads in front for the first time, O Mahonys replied with one of their own before Eamonn Boyle sealed it with a late point after great approach work from Fanning and Karl Clinton
