New Sponsorship Deal for Juvenile Club

The chairperson of the White’s Cross GAA Juvenile Club, Mike O Flynn, had the satisfaction of announcing a new sponsorship deal for the juvenile club at the Registration Evening that took place on September 21st last. Hennessy’s Service Station has agreed to extend their sponsorship of the club for a further three years, up to September 2015. When it was decided two years ago to seek a separate sponsor for the juvenile club from that of the adult club for the first time, Lorcan Hennessy’s business was seen as the ideal fit, and came on board without hesitation. Not alone is Hennessy’s filling station and shop literally at the heart of White’s Cross for some twenty years, but the Hennessy family themselves have been at the very heart of the community for many decades more, with the Stirrup Bar and their equestrian centre.
Indeed, despite the fact that the Hennessy name has greater resonation in the equine field than it has on the GAA field, the family has been long time supporters of White’s Cross GAA. Ever before Lorcan Hennessy came on board as juvenile club sponsor in September 2010, Mrs. Eileen Hennessy and son Michael have been sponsors of the very generous first prize in the Club’s Annual Christmas Draw. Indeed the field where our main pitch is located was purchased from the Hennessy family back in the early 80’s!
At the announcement of the new three year deal Mike O Flynn stressed how important such a guaranteed stream of income is for the club’s plans. Mike pointed to the significant developments that have taken place in the club, not alone in terms of extended and improved playing facilities, but also using the crucial metric of increased membership, as typified by the huge turnout at the latest registration evening. This, he said, was being borne out by success on the playing field also, with the under 12s, under 13s, under 14s and under 16s all qualifying in at least one code for their league playoffs.
Lorcan Hennessy said it was a pleasure and an honour to be associated with the local GAA club, and that the Hennessy family was delighted to be able to assist in this manner.
