Jubilee Celebration: There was a night of celebration in Delaney’s Bar in Dunkerrinlast Saturday as the Moneygall hurling team that won the North IntermediateChampionship in 1962 were honoured on the occasion of the 50th anniversary oftheir victory.It was terrific to have so many of the panel and their familiesin attendance, and all were formally welcomed by M.C. Darragh Hayes whenproceedings got underway. Each panel member was presented with a commemorativeplaque, and a presentation was also made to John Gleeson, who was recentlyhonoured with a Tipperary Sean Gael award.The panel then assembled for aphotograph with the Murphy Cup, which was presented to team captain JimmyBoland in 1962 and was kindly on loan from the Lár na Páirce Museum for thenight. There were also original newspaper reports of the final in circulationwhich provoked further chat and old stories being recalled, and the traditionalmusic and finger food also added to the enjoyment of what was a memorablenight.

Under 21: Our hurling year came to an end in Templemore last Saturdaywhen Clonakenny/Moneygall were beaten by a strong Thurles Sarsfields team inthe mid U21 A hurling semi-final by 4-18 to 0-8.Cathal Kennedy, Liam Carroll,and Brendan Toohey started in defence, Eoin Greene played at midfield, and AlanMaher, Brian Teehan and Ciaran Quinlan lined out in the forward line, with SeanFogarty coming on during the first half.

Juvenile AGM: The juvenile club AGM will be held in the GAA Centre onMonday 17th December. All parents are welcome to attend and we also encourageanybody who would be interested in getting involved with any of the underageteams to come along on the night.Members can now also submit their nominationsfor all officer roles and selector positions to the juvenile secretary KevinMaher, Dunkerrin.

Christmas Lotto: Our first Christmas draw took place at last week’slotto night and the prize winners were: Turkey – Cathriona Ryan, Glenbeha; Ham– Kevin Hayes, Moneygall; Whiskey – Whyte Brothers, Barna; Red Wine – PatriciaDelaney, Toomevara; White Wine – Kathleen Grace; Sweets – Mary Jones,Ballingrawn; Biscuits – Mrs. Betty Madden, Lisduff. The jackpot stands at€11,150 for this Tuesday’s draw in Ollie’s Bar, where the second Christmas drawwill also take place.

Tipperary Lotto: Congratulations to Padraig Sheedy, Clashagad, who wasthe winner of €200 in last Friday’s Tipperary GAA Weekly Lotto Draw.

Fitness Classes: The kettle bells exercise class continues in the mainhall of the GAA Centre every Tuesday evening at 8pm.The classes are led byinstructor Kenny McDonald and are open to all members of the public at a costof €7 per night.
