Newtown Blues Ladies won the Intermediate Championship Final on 4th Sept. against Naomh Martin. There was another great football match today between the Newtown Blues and Naomh Martin ladies. Lucky for the Blues they came out as winners in this contest unlike the U13’s on Friday night. The Blues ladies came out strong and never let the Martins take control of this match. Despite the tough weather conditions at the end of the first half the Blues ladies showed that they meant business. This was a great team effort with some great passages of play resulting in some fine scores. The Blues’ own Vicky McGinn got awarded Player of the Match and it was well earned as she worked so hard on the pitch chasing down balls, putting in some great tackles along with fantastic passes to her teammates that resulted in some fine scores and chalking up some scores on her own. It was great to see the ladies coming out on top and credit to Ronan & Margaret Phillips on all their efforts preparing the ladies to such a high standard. Well done ladies!
