DUBLIN 2-24 OFFALY 2-19

Dublin senior hurlers bounced back from their recent challenge game annihilation at the hands of Tipp by defeating Offaly in this SH challenge in Martin Savage Park on Saturday night.

In a well-contested game the Dubs came with a storming finish to win by five points in a game which marked the Golden Jubilee of the Navan Road club.

Michael Carton made a good return to competitive intercounty action following injury which ruled him out of the league while Shane Ryan impressed at full-forward with four points from play.

Paul Ryan was clinical from placed ball throughout but Offaly led 0-13 to 1-7 at half-time with David Curtin grabbing the Dublin goal.

Seven minutes into the second half Declan ODwyer goaled again for the Dubs but Offaly responded.

However, in the final quarter a flurry of points from Dublin helped them to victory.
