On Easter Monday, the Barna u12 girls took part in an All-Ireland Gaeltacht tournament played in Croke Park. We had a squad of 26 players with us and were in a group with Gleann Fhinne(Donegal), Corca Dhuibhne(Kerry), Achill and Cárna/An Caiseal.
As always the emphasis was on giving all players as much game time as possible and this bore fruit in the obvious improvement we witnessed throughout the day. We met a strong Cárna/An Caiseal side early on but we went on to beat the other teams in our group( though scores weren't being recorded).
A big thank you to the many parents who travelled up to support. We were well treated by the Lgfa and the girls were given a great pep talk by Dublin and Meath county players on the merits of playing Gaelic football throughout the teenage years and into adulthood.
The girls themselves played with great determination and as always were a credit to their parents and the Parish.
Is cinnte go mairfidh an lá ina gcuimhne go deo!
