Sligo Rovers F.C. would like to announce that a total of €96,925 has so far been raised as part of our efforts to keep the club from going out of business by the end of the season.
The main source of revenue has come from our syndicate draw sponsored by the Sligo Weekender which has been responsible for over €80,000 of the monies raised to date.
Whilst Sligo Rovers wish to sincerely thank the general public, its supporters, sponsors,committee members and all others who have contributed to the fundraising drive , the grim reality is that the club must raise a further €130,000 by the end of the season in order to ensure that the club is creditor free and tax compliant.
With a weekly financial commitment of €17,000 the club is now asking those with an interest in the clubs future to row in behind the club in what will be an extremely difficult period.Without a massive financial injection in this short time frame , the club will simply fail to survive the present crisis. The club would warmly welcome any fundraising initatives in the coming weeks that would generate the necessary funds.
