PRO Notes for the 27th March 2017

Our Senior team defeated Shamrock Gaels in the opening round of the Kiernan Cup at the weekend. Final score was 2-11 to 0-16. Our rescheduled Kiernan Cup game against Tourlestrane will take place next Sunday afternoon, 2nd April at 2pm in Cloonacool Community Park. 

 

Well done to our Ocean FM Pole Position Quiz who defeated North Sligo AC 34-23 in the quarter finals of the competition. 

A number of Club players still haven't registered with the club. Contact Club Registrar Joanne O'Grady or your respective team coach for details. All players have to be registered by the club before the new playing season commences as they will be not covered by the GAA insurance, and therefore ineligible to play. 

December 2016 lotto draw results – Numbers drawn were 9, 12 ,29, 35. There was no Lotto winner. Match 3 nos – 2 numbers Thomas Nathy Kilcoyne, Achonry and Mary Coleman, Hazelview , Lavagh. Lotto tickets 2017 are still available from any club officer. This is the Club's main fundraiser for the year and the continued support of the local communities is greatly appreciated. The first draw will take place at the end of March. 

Thank you to everyone that organised and supported the Table Quiz in the Happy Landing, Coolaney last Saturday night. 

Our Minor team begin their league campaign next Monday evening, 27th March against Calry/St Joseph's. Throw in 6.30pm at Cloonacool Community Park. 

Our U-16 team begin their league campaign this Wednesday evening, 29th March against Calry/St Joseph's. Throw in 6.30pm in Hazelwood.  

Our U-14 team began their league campaign last Sunday morning with an away win against Geevagh. Final score was 12-11 to 5-6.

U-12 training has commenced on a Tuesday evening at 7pm in Bunninadden Community Centre. New players welcome. 

Blue Kidz U-8 & U-10 training contines this Saturday morning from 10-11am in Collooney Teeling Centre. New players & children are very welcome to attend. Your club wants you!

grma (go raibh maith agat) is the new GAA Membership Card programme providing benefits and rewards to you, as a GAA member.  It is a ‘thank you’ or ‘go raibh maith agat’ for your involvement in your GAA club, engagement in GAA activities and attendance at games. Registration for the programme is now open with benefits available from January 2017. When you sign up, you will receive your Membership Card early next year enabling you to avail of partner discounts, special offers and earn points for going to games. Points can be redeemed by individual members or pooled for redemption by GAA clubs. You will need a GAA membership number to join grma and receive a Membership Card. Please request your membership number at your club when you renew your subscription for 2017. New club members will not have a GAA membership number until their club has registered them on the GAA Games Management System. The club will be able to provide a membership number once this registration step has been completed.Membership Cards will only be distributed to members who have signed up to grma online.The programme is only available to adult members (over 18’s).

The new Club Players' Association (CPA) is urging all club members, (playing & non playing) to register their details at www.gaaclubplayers.com. "Let your voice be heard"!

The club are delighted to announce that they will be hosting a Kellogg's GAA Cul Camp on the week 31st July-4th August in Coolaney Community Park. Log onto www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie to book your place. Anyone interested in coaching in this years Kellogg's GAA Cul Camps should send their C.V. to liamog.gormley.gm.sligo@gaa.ie. Applicants must be over 18 years on 1st June 2017.

Well done to the Sligo Minor team on their Connacht League win against Leitrim last Thursday evening. Barry Gorman lined out at midfield and chipped in with an important point in their 2-11 to 1-11 win. 

Congratulations to Stephen Connolly and Nathan Mullen and all the Sligo U-21 team & management on their brilliant win against Roscommon in the Connacht Championship last Wednesday evening. The Connacht Final is fixed for this Saturday evening v Galway, throw in 5pm in Markievicz Park. 

Commiserations to Criostoir Davey and all the Sligo team & management on their National League defeat to Offaly at the weekend. Good luck to them this Sunday away to Louth.
