Round 3 was played on Wednesday 4th April in Rathbeg, Kilcumin were the opposition. The final score was Rathmore 0-6 to Kilcumin 5-14.
This was another backs to the wall contest for these young Rathmore footballers.
Despite the score line there was a lot of encouragement as there was no shortage of effort or application and each ball was contested right up until the final whistle.
It is clear that our team should be playing in at least one division lower, however with two games to go (at home) that the competitive effort will continue.
The Rathmore team was Donagh McSweeney, Shane Murphy, Cathal Murphy, Joseph McCarthy, Tadhg Moyinhan (Capt), Tim Cooper, Connor Jenkins, Pat Cremin, Tadhg Moore, Brian Moyinhan, John Friel, Tom Kelliher, Connor Buckley, Danny Mahoney and Mark Reen subs Martin Horgan, Christopher Counihan, Donagh Kelliher, Gavin Breen, Kenneth Kelliher, Stephen Nagle and Joseph O Keeffe.
Referee was Eddie Barrett from Knocknogoshel.
Round 4 and 5 are at home each Wednesday in Rathbeg.
