For their first game of the season Roche Emmets Ladies travelled to Louth Village to take on newly promoted St. Vincent’s. While it took both teams some time to settle into the game the girls from Roche scored first with a point from Sauneen Watters. By half time Roche had a six point lead to no score with further points coming from Amy Gribben, Roseanna Heeney, Megan Fitzpatrick, Claire McCann and Denise Coburn.
Sauneen Watters opened the scoring in the second half with her second point of the day, while goals from Claire McCann (2) and Megan Fitzpatrick (1) sealed the win for Roche. Although St. Vincents did register 1–3 on the scoreboard in the second half, the girls from Roche held on to win the game on a 1–3 to 3–9 scoreline.
