Ryanaldo Inspires Brideview Win
Thomas Ryan had a hand in both goals as Brideview came from a goal behind to beat local rivals Lismore at Brideview Park last Saturday. The opening twenty minutes of the game it was all Brideview and they came close on two occasions through Thomas Ryan. On 23mins however it was the away side that broke the deadlock when a corner kick deceived everyone to find the net. 10mins late the game was back on level terms, in a move of which had most of the Brideview team involved a slide rule pass from William Curley put Thomas Ryan through and he made no mistake in dispatching the ball home. A forty yard free kick from JP Grey was tipped onto the post by Seanie Barry in the Lismore goal who went of to make another one or two very good saves. The sides went in level but it wasn’t long before United took the lead when on 50mins Thomas Ryan was taken down in the box. Up stepped Michael Curley to take the resulting spot kick and he made it 2-1. Billy Sheehan had to save well to keep United’s lead and Michael Curley was denied by Barry at the other end. United held out a nervy last five minutes to secure a deserved three points.
