S.H.C Update

November 8, 2018

As we anticipated the Cork Senior Hurling Championship has been put on ice.
We were to play CIT on this Friday night or alternatively on Thursday July
26th. With Cork’s defeat to Tipperary last Saturday night everything is
changed. Cork are now due to play Waterford in the quarter final of the All
Ireland Championship on Sunday week July 29th. If Cork win that game they
play Limerick or Clare on August 12th. Our Senior Hurling Championship game
now has no definite date but we are looking at mid August at the earliest.
This is an unsatisfactory situation to say the least, especially for club
players who are trying to arrange work schedules and holidays. Our
neighbouring clubs in Waterford often complain of long gaps between
championship games but at least they know that they won’t be playing soon
whereas the situation in Cork is changing every week.

We play Glen Rovers in the S.H.L. in Rathcormac on this Friday evening July
20th at 7.30pm.
