Annual Golf Outing Sarsfields will hold their Annual Golf Outing this Saturday 20th July in Newbridge Golf Club. All Golfers are welcome and for further Info contact Mick Ward (086/4034439)

Function Rooms There are 3 Function Rooms available in the club which can cater for big and small Functions, Weddings, Christenings, Birthdays, Funerals, etc. Enquiries to Celene (087/7934780) Christy (087/9249884)

Football; Well done to the 5 Sarsfields men Cian, Alan, Diarmuid, Ben, and Sean on winning the minor Leinster Title on Sunday in Croke Park. The Senior Team had a good win over Clane on Thursday 11th on a scoreline of 1-16 to 0-16. Well done to our two U/16 teams who won both of their 2nd round Championship matches last Friday 12th July in Naas. . The senior B Team had a good win over Maynooth on Mon 15th in the Championship. Best of Luck to Smithy and the Kildare team who take on Tyrone in Newbridge on Sat 20th July.

Hurling; The Hurlers were out last Thur 11th against Moorefield in the first round of the Championship. Both teams served up a great game of Hurling to which the Moores came out on top, to Claim the Timmy Durney and Mick O’Keefe Cup.

Ladies Football The club would like to Congratulate Roisin Byrne (Sarsfields and Kildare Senior Ladies Footballer) on receiving a scholarship from Maynooth NUI. Sarsfields Ladies Football section are now inviting applications for the posts of managers of the ladies football U15, U13 & U11 teams for the upcoming Autumn leagues. The U15 league is scheduled to begin on August 31st, no dates have been set for the start of the U13 or U11 leagues but it is expected that they will commence in September. All management teams must contain at least one female mentor to order to comply with the LGFA code of ethics. All candidates must fill out an official application form which is available from the Ladies Football secretary at or you can contact me (Liam O’Brien) by phone at 085-1560318. Skills Academy; The Dermot Earley Skills Academy is now in full swing on Saturday mornings and all new members are welcome. Times are as follows: 09.00 – 10.30 boys u8, u9, u10. 10.30 – 11.15 Girls u9, u10. 11.15 – 12.45 Boys u5, u6, u7, girls u5-u8. Looking forward to meeting new members.

The Club Shop; The shop is open every Saturday morning. It is well stocked out with all types of gear both casual and Training. Gum Shields are now available priced at €6

National gathering; This year as part of the national Gathering, Sarsfields will be inviting Sarsfields people and Newbridge people in general who are abroad, home for a weekend provisionally pencilled in for the weekend of the All-Ireland football final in September.
