Sarsfields 0-10 Johnstownbridge 1-10
Rd 13 SFL Div 1
It was a great afternoon for this Match as the two teams met in Sarsfields Park for a 2.30 throw in. The home side opened up the scoring with a point from play from full forward Robbie Comfrey. Both sides then exchanged wides until the visitors levelled it up with 5 min on the clock. The match was slow to get going and both sides were threatening at either end and with 22 min gone the score was locked at 0-3 to 0-3. Then came a turning point in the game when the visitors who were now getting on top of the match scored a decisive goal. This was now to leave the scores at 1-03 to 0-03 with just 5 min left in the first half. The remaining time in the first half was to see Kieran McInerney Aspell kick over a free and a good point from play from the visitors. The half time score was Sarsfields 0-04 Johnstownbridge 1-04.
The second half of this game was to see the away side take control in the middle of the field and by way of that expand their lead to seven points. This was from some good off the ball movement and long range point talking. The home side were getting it hard to close the gap and with ten minutes left on the clock the score was to read 1-10 to 0-09.
In the remaining minutes of the game Sarsfields Missed some good chances in front of the goal and could have put more pressure on the away side but in the end only managed one point. The Final result of the match was Sarsfields 0-10 to Johnstownbridge 1-10.
