Sarsfields Lotto Newsletter

November 8, 2018

Dermot Earley Academy Our underage Academy is now in full swing on Saturday mornings  for all children between the ages of 5 and 11. Sarsfields have a very successful underage structure and this is due to the hard work and commitment of our underage coaches. For further Info Contact Mick Byrne (086/8375719) our Academy Co-Ordinator.

Football  Well done to the Senior team who had a good win over Naas in the league. Well done to the Jun B team who beat Elistown in their last game of the league. They have now finished top of the League and will play Castledermot in the semi-final. Also a good win for the U/16A team as they overcame Naas in their first round of the championship. Hard luck to the B team who narrowly lost out to Confey.

Well done to all our Kildare minors as they had a great win over Laois on Saturday gone. They now await the winners of Offaly/Dublin who they will play in the Leinster Final on Sunday 20th July.

Used Football & Hurling Gear As the club Equipment officer it is my aim to raise funds whenever possible, to ease the cost on the club on buying training equipment. Over the next few weeks I will be trying to collect as much gear as possible and then sell it for a small fee on a Saturday morn at the Academy. What we need, Boots (all sizes), Helmets, any O’Neills gear, Jerseys, Hoodies etc. Any Monies made from this will be used to buy training gear for the club. I will start to collect on Saturday morn coming 29th Mar, so if you are attending the Academy or you can call in with some used gear please leave it in the shop. For further info you can contact Seamus McGann 087/2039726. Thank you, every bit helps!!

Second Hand Clothes Collection The club is still collecting second hand clothes and you can hand in your clothes in the morning or the evening when the club is open. For further info you can contact Christy on 087/9249884

Cumann Na Sáirseálach  On Saturday 1st March the club launched its new fund raising Initiative which is known as Cumann na Sáirsealach. The idea behind this Fundraising Project is to try and improve the Facilities of the club especially in areas such as the upkeep of pitches, Training equipment for our underage level , ie. Sets of Goals, Footballs, cones etc. Along with this it is also the aim of Cumann Ná Sáirseálach to build Dressing rooms at the Pitch 2 and 3 end of the grounds, this is something that is badly needed to improve our ability to host matches due to the large number of teams in the club. (Last year we had 37 teams competed at all levels). The Club has now received Planning Permission to carry out this project. To date Cumann Ná Sairsealach has funded the New ball stop nets on the main pitch and on pitch 3. It has also contributed to the sanding which has recently taken place on the pitches and will improve the playing surface, and also to training equipment for underage.

All the info on this can be found on the web site This is a great opportunity to support your club and help us to develop it more for the future.

If you are interested in joining this and supporting the club you can contact Vice Chairman John Maher (087/6371285). Niall Sheridan 087/2290845. Sandra Houlihan 086/3264421  Pam Murphy 086/0619530.
