Annual Table Quiz Sarsfields GAA held their Annual table quiz on Holy Thursday 17th April and once again it was a great success. The club would like to thank all who supported the event and to Padraig Brennan for his hard work in the organising of it.
Membership 2014 Club membership is now due, to enable members to be registered and it must be paid by March 31st. Also, a membership subscription must be paid by March 31st. if you want to vote at the 2014 AGM.
All players who wish to play for Sarsfields in the League and Championship must be a fully paid member. This principle applies to all, regardless of age group.
Your Club needs you. So please register before March 31st.
In simple terms this means if adult or juvenile players do not pay their membership, they are not eligible to play Gaelic games for the club. The prompt payment of membership helps Sarsfields to provide the players insurance scheme, Lighting, Pitches, dressing rooms, training equipment and much more. The club would like to thank all its 10 year members and to remind them that it has now expired and new membership can be paid as in the times above. Dermot Earley Academy Our underage Academy has recommenced on Saturday mornings for all children between the ages of 5 and 11. Sarsfields have a very successful underage structure and this is due to the hard work and commitment of our underage coaches. Used Football & Hurling Gear As the club Equipment officer it is my aim to raise funds whenever possible, to ease the cost on the club on buying training equipment. Over the next few weeks I will be trying to collect as much gear as possible and then sell it for a small fee on a Saturday morn at the Academy. What we need, Boots (all sizes), Helmets, any O’Neills gear, Jerseys, Hoddies etc. Any Monies made from this will be used to buy training gear for the club. I will start to collect on Saturday morn coming 29th Mar, so if you are attending the Academy or you can call in with some used gear please leave it in the shop. Football (This is for W/Ending 21st March) Seniors played away to Johnstownbridge and recorded a 2-20 to 3-11 victory in which was a very entertaining match. The Junior B team had a good win over Allenwood. The minor A Team beat R/Towers and the Minor B team won the Div 4 League with a win over Naas. Hard luck to the U/16 team who lost out to Moorefield in the Lge Semi and also to the U/14s who got beaten in the Feile shield Final. The club wishes a speedy recovery to Cian Chilly Byrne as he suffered a Fracture to his shoulder over the weekend playing with the minors.
Hurling Our senior hurlers will play at home v Celbridge on Thur 24th @ 19.30
Cumann Na Sáirseálach On Saturday 1st March the club launched its new fund raising Initiative which is known as Cumann na Sáirsealach All the info on this can be found on the web site www.sarsfieldsgaanewbridge.ie If you are interested in joining this and supporting the club you can contact Vice Chairman John Maher (087/6371285). This is a great opportunity to support your club and help us to develop it more for the future.
