Sarsfields Annual Race Night on Friday November 30th.

 Sarsfields U21 Championship Quarterfinal tie postponed.

Alan Barry, Alan Smith and Gary White get the call for Kildare trials.

 

The U21 Championship quarterfinal game scheduled for this coming Saturday against St. Coca’s in Sarsfields Park has been postponed and will probably be rescheduled for Saturday week. The winners of this tie will meet the winners of the quarterfinal clash between Confey/Athy. Best wishes to former underage manager Mick Hannafin and wife Chris who are moving to his native Kerry shortly. Best wishes also to a great Sash supporter, Nicola Monahan who departed for Montana recently.

Congratulations to Alan Barry, Alan Smith and Gary White who have been called for Kildare senior trials by new Manager Ciran McGeeney.

Sarsfields annual dog night will be held on Friday 30th November. Tickets are now available priced at €10 or €25 for a family ticket. If anyone knows a company/business that might be interested in sponsoring a race, (€500), or a half page ad in the race card (€250), please forward the contact details to organising committee members, Marie Clancy (087-1323764) or Brian Dempsey (087-2848396). Anyone interested, in doing some bar work in the club – MUST be 18 years or over – is asked to contact Marie Clancy (087-1323764) or Monica Scanlon (087-7934780). The rates for functions are €10 per hour. Previous experience is not necessary, as training will be provided

Juvenile Club Chairman, Tony McConnell would like to thank the members of Sarsfields county winning minor team who were in the club for juvenile training last Saturday week to show the Gilligan Cup to the children attending the juvenile training – and  gave some valuable tips to the youngsters. Anyone wishing to get involved with the underage structure is very welcome. Call up to clubhouse on any Saturday or contact Juvenile chairman Tony McConnell on 086 3867966. The under 8’s train on Wednesdays at 5pm. New players (born in 1999) are welcome. Contact Eamon Harnett 086-6013367 for further information. The under 9’s train on Sundays at 12 noon. New players (born in 1998) are welcome. Contact Eddie Lynch 086-8875662.  In conjunction with Kildare Sports Partnership Sarsfields Juvenile club has prepared a Code of Ethics & Good Practice for young people in sport. The formal launch of the Code of Ethics took place last Saturday in the clubhouse.

 Change of management at under 10: Stephen Brady, Dave Clancy and Niall Rennick take over from Joe O Connor and Sean Wallace and the club would like to thank Joe and Sean for their hard work over the last 5 years. Training for the under 10s will be on Sunday mornings.

The county board will in the coming months be reassessing the present championship structure and are likely to make changes for next year although it is unlikely that they will revert back to the knockout system.

             The GAA conference held on Friday and Saturday the 19th and 20th October was a success and very beneficial to all coaches and intending coaches according to Sarsfields representatives there.

The Sarsfields Lotto is held every Monday night in the Clubhouse. As well as buying tickets from members you can play via direct debit (forms available from the clubhouse or from your usual seller) or play online on the Sarefields Website no matter where you are.
