Fixtures: Our shield game against Dromahair, which was called off due to weather last Saturday is now fixed for Dromahair on Sunday at 2.30. Our under 16s play Dromahair on Sunday at 12.00 in Dromahair. Last Sunday’s junior ladies fixture was called off due to the death of the late Frank McNulty.

Junior Lose to Allen Gaels: An céad cluiche den bhliain. Yes a new season is upon us and it was good to see a good turn-out for the first adult game of the new seasons. This was our third team, playing in Division 4 of the league. Overall Allen Gaels were that bit stronger but an early goal from Colm Brennan and a pointed free from Seán McCartin kept us in it. However, as the half wore on Allen Gaels got ahead and it was 0-9 to 1-1 at half time. It was an uphill battle in the second half despite some good defending and a penalty saved by Cormac O Suilleabháin. Three good points from Anthony Curran and one each from Éamon Walsh and Paul Prior, plus a late goal from Adrian Murphy kept the score reasonably respectable at 2-14 to 2-6. Kevin Prior, Anthony Curran and Paul Prior played best for us but it was exception accuracy from long range by Allen Gaels which made the gap so big.
U16 Lose to Drumkeeran: We played Drumkeerin in the Park on Saturday in the 13 a side competition. Playing against the wind in the first half we were ahead by a few points at half time. The lead changed hands about three times in the second half and in a high scoring game O’Heslins lost out by three points in the end. Score Drumkeerin 7-7 O’Heslin’s 5-10
Sympathy: The club extends sympathy to the McIntyre Family, Corrachole, on the death of Gerry’s
mother recently. Also sympathy to the McNulty Family, Kiltybarden and the McIntyre Family, on the tragic death of Frank McNulty last weekend. The ladies junior game was called off as a mark of respect on Frank McNulty’s death. Go ndéana Dia trócaire orthu beirt.
Presidents Award Presented: Congratulations to John Harte who received his President’s award at a banquet in Páirc an Chrócaigh on Monday last after the club finals.
