Kevin Butler Cup

Our heartiest congratulations to Newport u14’s as they claimed victory in the inaugural Kevin Butler cup. In an enthralling match Newport defeated Cappamore having previously defeated Sean Treacys in the semi final. Sean Treacys had the better of near neighbours Upperchurch-Drombane in the 3rd/4th place play off.

Kevin represented our club with distinction at under-age level and the skills and tenacity displayed in this tournament were a most fitting tribute to Kevin’s memory.

Senior Hurling
Sean Treacys/ Galtee Rovers played Golden in the West Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship at Cappawhite on April 9th and were denied victory when Golden equalised with the last strike of the game. We led by 1-05 to 0-04 the goal taken by our sharpest forward Paudie Ryan Coole, at the break and extended our lead to eight points early in the second half but then the men in green came back. Next up is Cashel with further improvement needed to progress in this championship.
