SENIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE Div. 1 v CELBRIDGE

Naas  1  –  7          Celbridge 0 – 7

A well worked David Gahan  goal midway through the second half proved the difference between these two sides. Naas playing with a strong wind had eleven wides in the first half and were level at the interval  0 – 4 each. However they put in a great second half performance dominating the home side who only scored three points.

Celbridge opened the scoring with a Richard O’Sullivan point after six minutes. Naas drew level one minute later when Eamonn Callaghan pointed. Then Celbridge and Naas exchanged points through David Hughes and Shane Bergin. Points by Adrian Cahill and David Hughes gave the home side a two point lead after twenty five minutes 0 – 4 to 0 – 2. Late points from Eamonn Callaghan(free) and Ronan Joyce left the sides level at the interval 0 – 4 each.

At the start of the second half Tom Fitzgerald (Celbridge) and Ronan Joyce( Naas) exchanged points.

Celbridge went one point clear through david Hughes after twelve minutes. Two minutes later a well worked Naas move ended with a David Gahan goal to put Naas two clear and on their way to victory.

Ailin McDermott made it three ahead before Darragh McEvoy and Ronan Joyce exchanged points to complete the scoring.
