NAAS 0 – 13 KILCOCK 0 – 10
Despite a lacklustre first half performance, in which they kicked many wides , and were one point down at the interval Naas defeated Kilcock with a much improved second half display. Kilcock fought hard and were a point behind with ten minutes to go. However Naas finished the stronger scoring three points to Kilcock’s one in the last ten minutes.
Naas started well with two John Joyce points. Kilcock equalised after ten minutes with two points in a minute. The teams exchanged points before John Joyce put Naas ahead 0 – 4 to 0 – 3. A Kevin Curtis point was matched by a Kilcock point. After twenty one minutes Ailin McDermott put Naas two points ahead. Kilcock finished the half with three unanswered to lead 0 – 7 to 0 – 6 at the break.
An early Ross Bergin free equalised matters but Kilcock regained the lead three minutes later.Three Naas frees from Ross Bergin(2) and Kevin Curtis(1) put Naas two ahead with ten minutes left. In the last five minutes Naas scored three points to two for Kilcock to win by three points.
