Senior Hurling Championship

November 8, 2018

Olafs 2-17 Erins Isle 0-09

Olaf’s senior hurlers put on a great display to completely over run Erins Isle in the championship at finglas last night and now go on to play in the quarter final.
The game was very even up to half time with Olafs leading by just two points. Donal McMahuna scoring a goal for Olafs from a penalty. In truth we should have been much further ahead as we missed two other point blank goals with only the goalkeeper to beat. But with the wind in their backs in the second half Olafs put on a power display to completely outclass Isles. A wonderful worked goal by Declan O Dwyer set up a glut of points for Olafs from all over the field. We scored five points from over sixty yards, scored by Eoin Kinsella, John Harrington, Declan O Dwyer, Robert Quinn and Donie Mac. Substitute Jonnie McGrath chipped in with a couple of super points also. Our defence was brilliant all through the game, never giving Isles frowards a look in. Paudie O Brien, Paddy Roe and Niall McCaffery were outstanding.
