Senior Ladies Lose to St Rynaghs

November 8, 2018

Edenderry Senior Ladies played their second round of the championship against St. Rynagh’s in Killeigh on Sunday last. This was always going to be a tough encounter for Edenderry versus championship favourites Rynaghs who did not participate in this year’s County league campaign. Edenderry were forced to line out without their influential captain and midfielder Christine McDonnell due to holidays. Rynaghs were quick off the mark and kicked two fine points before All Star Kim Furey who was carrying a niggling hip injury, opened the scoring for Edenderry with a fine point. St. Rynaghs dominated the kickouts and were rampant in the opening period, creating attack after attack. Edenderry’s second score came from the penalty spot from Kym Furey who shot to the corner of the net.
