Senior Ladies reach Leinster Final

November 8, 2018

Edenderry Ladies qualifed for the Leinster Final of the Ladies Junior Club Championship following a fine eight point win in Edenderry yesterday.

Edenderry actually trailed by 5 points mid way through the first half however a spirited end to the half saw them lead by 1-06 to 1-04 at the break.

Playing with the aid of the wind in the second half Edenderry played some breathtaking football which saw them outscore their opponents by 7 points to 1 to win the game by 8 points.

The second half of the game was played at a lightning pace and Edenderry showed real class all over the field. Their defence was rock solid and withstood all the Rochfortbridge Ladies could through at them, while their passing and catching in the middle third of the field laid the platform for the forwards to ensure victory.

Overall this was an excellent football game played in a hard, tough but fair spirit by both sides.

Edenderry now march on to the Leinster Final were they face opponents from Wexford. The game is expected to be played at a nuetral venue on the 23rd or 24th October. Further details will be made posted on www.edenderrygaa.com when available.
