Senior Status retained

November 7, 2018

In a tense and eagerly contested relegation football encounter, the senior footballers overcame Lissycasey on a score of 1-11 to 0-9.
This game was played at Cooraclare on Sunday 16th September and was by far the best football played by the team this year.
The stakes were high as the retention of senior status was the prize for the winners.
Kilkee settled early and went into an early lead but Lissycasey took control and hauled themselves back into the game.
The decisive score of the game came from the boot of Dara Kelly when he broke through for a goal which helped leave   Kilkee leading at the break 1-6 to 0-6. Michael O’Shea was the star of the show scoring 0-8pts. While the whole team and replacements played magnificently, others to shine on the day were David Russell, Kevin Harte, Ronan Browne and Brendan Smyth.
Kilkee took command of the game in the second half and were not to be denied, running out eventual winners and keeping the fans and club supporters very happy.
