Our senior hurlers were beaten by Drom Inch by 1-14 to 2-7 in round two of the county championship in Borrisoleigh on Sunday. The sides were level at half time, 1-5 each, with Eoghan Ryan scoring Moneygall’s goal in the opening minutes after a good move involving Ger Kirwan and Paddy Fanning.
Drom Inch opened up a 1-8 to 1-5 lead but a goal from Ger Kirwan levelled matters again. The teams were level again with five minutes of normal time left, 2-7 to 1-10. However two crucial saves from Damien Young prevented further Moneygall goals and Drom Inch finished stronger, scoring four points without reply to advance to round three.
