November 7, 2018

Offaly Senior Football Championship.
Ballycumber 0–10 Edenderry 0–9.
Ballycumber recorded a first championship victory over Edenderry in O Connor Park on Saturday evening. Once again a good first half was followed by a poor second half performance. Points from Rory Guinan 4th min. Colm Quinn free in 6th min, Conor Connelly 8th min, Colm Quinn free in 10th min, Rory in 15th min and Colm again in 22nd min to one pointed free in the 17th min to Edenderry, gave Ballycumber a comfortable lead at half time. The course of the second half changed with points in the 4th, 8th, 12th 13th, 16th 26th, 27thminutes by Edenderry to just two points in the 3rd and 27th min. by Rory. The scores were level for one minute before Edenderry went ahead in the 29th min.. Fergal Daly brought the sides level with a great shot and then ‘ cometh the hour, cometh the man’ Colm Quinn stood over a free on the 21 metre line and all the years of practising from that position in the pitch helped him to confidently score the winning point.
We now look forward to meeting Erin Rovers in Doon next Saturday evening.
