SFL Div 2: Clonmore 0-9 Kildavin/Clonegal 3-10

November 8, 2018

A blistering start which yielded 1-4 for K/C left the Intermediates chasing the game in Woodside on Friday night. We opened our account through Owen Coleman on 23 minutes and further points by John McGrath and Francie Whelan reduced the arrears but another K/C goal on the stroke of half-time left seven points between the teams at the break – 2-4 to 0-3. Worse was to follow as K/C tagged on 1-1 immediately after half-time to make the score 3-5 to 0-3 and leave Clonmore with an 11 point deficit. Second half points were scored by Niall Humphries (3 frees), Owen Coleman, David Mulvany and a '45' by Con Murphy but in spite of plenty of effort, we couldn't get through for the goals we needed to bring us back into the game.

Team: Pauric Lawlor, David McCarney, Anthony Byrne, Willie Byrne, Paddy Gahan, Shane Murphy, Larry Doyle, Con Murphy (0-1,'45'), Francis Whelan (0-1), Daniel Quigley, Owen Coleman (0-2), Niall Humphries (0-3,3f), John McGrath (0-1), Gary Byrne, Collie McGrath. Subs: Shane McGrath, Alan Humphries, David Mulvany (0-1)
