SFL Div 4: Clonmore 1-10 Fenagh 1-8

November 8, 2018

The first half was fairly even with a Fenagh player sent off on the 23rd minute. At half-time Clonmore led by 0-4 to 0-3. In spite of being a man down, Fenagh sprung to life in the second half with a well taken goal. By the 45th minute, Fenagh had moved into a 1-6 to 0-8 lead. Clonmore then stepped up their game with points by Collie McGrath and Kevin Walsh. Entering the last minute, with Clonmore down by a point, David McCarney bull dozed his way into the square where he was brought down for a penalty. Mark A Byrne sent a great shot to the top corner of the net to seal a hard fought win by two points.

Darragh Kelly had a great game in goal ably assisted by John Kelly and Colin Doyle in defence, John McGrath in midfield and forwards Dave McCarney, PJ Byrne, Kevin Walsh with a miracle point and Mark A. Byrne with a great penalty near the end. Clonmore are now top of the SFL 4 table with two games remaining.  Our next game is at home to the Fighting Cocks next Wednesday evening May 16th at 7.30pm.
