SFL Div 4: Clonmore 4-15 Leighlinbridge 1-4

November 8, 2018

The Clonmore Junior team put in a good performance last week with a trip down to Leighlinbridge.  After a narrow defeat the week before they were out to show what they can do. After a modest enough start playing up the slight slope in Leighlin they reached half time with a five point lead 1-6 to 1-1, the defence holding firm to only concede two scores after some good Leighlin pressure.

In the second half it was Clonmore who were to apply the pressure with every player eager for the ball and moving well as a team. They went on to score 3-9 in the second half to 0-3 to the Leighlin men. For Clonmore, Darragh Kelly in the goal did well and was well supported with Wayne Doyle, Colin Doyle and Willie Rooney in defence. Jamie Walsh and Ivan Byrne in the centre put in a good performance with P.J Byrne, Owen Coleman and Jamie Doyle up front.
