Naas 0 – 11, St. Kevin’s 0 – 11
This was a very close contest with the teams level five times during the game. St. Kevin’s started strongly and Naas were lucky when Barry Noone blasted a 4th minute penalty over the bar. It was the ability of St. Kevin’s to come from behind which got them a result here. They scored two unanswered points in the last three minutes to bring the sides level.
St. Kevin’s had two early points from Wayne Leonard and the Barry Noone penalty. Two Ross Bergin points for Naas levelled matters. Ross Bergin and Cathal O Leary traded points before Leonard put Kevin's ahead after fifteen minutes. Ross Bergin equalised for Naas and two Ronan Joyce points left Naas leading 0 – 6 to 0 – 4 after 25 minutes. A late Kevin’s point reduced the arrears to a point at the interval. Naas led 0 – 6 to 0 – 5.
Neil Farragher increased the Naas lead on the restart with a point. St. Kevin’s equalised with points from Brian Dunne and Barry Noone and Cormac Noone put them a point up after eight minutes. Ross Bergin equalised again with a free. Naas took the lead half-way through the second half with a David Gahan point but Kevins levelled it at 0 – 9 each. Joey Cocoman and Ross Bergin gave Naas a two point advantage with three minutes to go. However late points from Cathal O’Leary and Wayne Leonard levelled the scores for a share of the points.
