A chairde,

It was another fantastic weekend for the club claiming 3 county titles. The U16 camogie team got the ball rolling on Saturday afternoon beating Killtullagh Kilimordaly in Tourloughmore. This was followed by a double celebration on Sunday when the U14 and U16 footballers claimed their respective county titles beating Oranmore/Maree and Corofin respectively in Caherlistrane. A huge thank you to all our memmbers who made a special effort to attend the finals and support all the teams. It's a forth U14 A football title in a row which is a fantastic achievement. It's a second for the club who did a 4 in a row from 1981-1984, teams that featured victorious U16 camgie and football managers Cathal McGinley and Norman Costello. The club were on the wrong end of a few final appearances at the weekend with th U10 and U12b girls losing out in county finals as well as the Junior Footballers going down to Renvyle in the League Final.

All roads lead to Tuam this Sunday for the County Minor Final. The SKGAA lads have a huge task in trying to retain the county championship when they face an all conquering Claregalway outfit. this Claregalway team have won all the way up winning U14 including the All Ireland féile and U16. Our lads will need as much support as possible on the day so again we would ask all members to make the special effort to get to Tuam on Sunday. A huge thanks to Keith Duggan who has organised buses for club members to attend the game. Details below. There is also the small matter of a Junior Camogie Connacht Semi Final scheduled to take place in the Prairie this Saturday.

U9s enjoyed a very positive morning at Castlegar blitz last Sunday. U8/9 training continues for next two Thursdays as the street league format in-house competition the Cappagh Cup reaches final stages.

U11 girls recorded their second win of the City league last Sunday against Turloughmore . Next up is the county U11 summer league semi-final away to Oranmore Maree this evening ,Wednesday at 5.45pm at the Old Maree Pitch.

U16s won county B1 championship final by 1-10 to 0-7 against  Kiltullagh Kilimordaly. This came after  a tough match where every ball was contested and nothing was left to chance.  Our girls  took an early lead from a free in the first minute and never let the opponents  get a grip on the game. Playing 12 a side on a full pitch is a huge ask but the girls were well prepared (thanks to Cathals dreaded '7seconds') and their hard work was rewarded. Well done to the girls,  manager Cathal McGinley and the ever present Susan Murray . A very satisfying victory for this group of girls who have been together for over 10 years at this stage. All good things come to those who wait.

Juniors received great support at the recent county championship final and hope that this support will continue for Connacht semi final on Saturday in the Prairie. Make home advantage count.

We break now until Feb 2018.

u12– U12 Girls B team were beaten in the Div 4 Championship Final last Sunday by a slightly stronger Menlough team. But the girls can be proud of themselves this year. Their commitment and behaviour are a credit to the club and they have reached 2 finals this year, winning one. The proposed A team replay vs Monivea is still unresolved.

u10 – The girls had a great day out at the u10 County Blitz in Monivea last weekend and made it all the way through to the final where they unfortunately fell short at the final hurdle.  The girls had great fun and showed off all their skills. Well done to all involved.
