SKGAA Newsletter 15/8/18

November 8, 2018

A chairde,

It was a Saturday of highs and lows in Croke Park for both Galway and SKGAA fans. Commiserations to Sean, Ruari, Evan and the Galway Seniors who fell short against Dublin. It must be said that this Dublin team are one of the best of all time and all we can say is thank you to all the Galway lads for a fantastic summer. Ye did us so proud. Ye'll be back.

There was more joy in the minor  semi-final with Gawlay qualifying for the All Ireland Final. It's impossible to ignore the SKGAA contribution with Aidan Halloran winning Man of the Match, Eoghan Tinney playing brilliantly and scoring the vital first goal and Cathal Sweeney who was many people's man of the match with a fantastic display from wing back scoring three points from play as well. We must also give a special mention to Tomo Cullhane, who came on to great effect in both the quater and semi final. Tomo has switched clubs this year to Clane in Kildare where he has been living for the past few years. Tomo played all the way to U16 with the club and we are delighted to see him doing so well. We are all so proud of the lads and wish them all the best in the final. We must also give a mention to Norman, Paul, Gerry, David, Chris and all their coaches, their parents and teams mates – without the work, sacrafices and effort of those people the lads would never be where they are now.

It's hurling final this weekend and more SKGAA interest. All the best to Donal O'Shea, trainer PJ Kelly and both minor and Senior Galway teams in the All Ireland Final. We are all rooting for ye and hopefully ye'll bring the cups back on Sunday.
