An extremely busy has week has passed and another extremely busy week is on the way. Hurling feile last week, football feile this week; all three adult football teams were in action last weekend as well as a host of other teams and codes.

There are 2 important pieces of information we wish to bring to your attention.
1. The Club have been allocated a number of tickets for the Ed Sheeran concerts on the Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of May in Pearce Stadium. Approximately 50 are now available to be used in an open draw for club members to buy at face value (much like the draws for the All Ireland tickets). To be within a chance of securing a ticket leave your name and the night you would prefer to attend (either Saturday or Sunday) with James in the office. If two members of your family are members you may leave two names etc… The draw will take place on Friday the 20th of April so all submissions must be in by then. Reminder you must be fully registered with the club in 2018 for your your name to be entered into the draw.
2. Health and Wellbeing
As part of the club's Health and Wellbeing Initiatives, we have organised a trip to Croke Park Museum on the 5th of May. All the details are in the flyer below but here's a quick breakdown:
– Bus leaves the Árus at 9am on Saturday the 5th of May.
– The cost is 35euro for OAP's and 40 euro for anybody else.
– The cost includes the bus, lunch and a guided tour all taking place at Croke Park.
– People will have a chance to look around the museum themselves after the tour.
– The bus will stop once on the way up and once on the way back.
– The trip is open to anyone at all, not just members or OAP's but we are targeting our Life Members and Retired Members of the Community in particular as a social outing.
– To book a place just call James in the office on 091527333 or call into him in the Árus.
– Places are limited so please book your place early to guarentee your space.
– If you know of anyone who might be interested in this trip, please let them know.

Adult Football
Senior:
The seniors made it two from two with an impressive 3-10 to 0-12 point win over St. James in the Prairie on Sunday morning. Despite a number of injuries to key players, the team gave a very encouraging display and are building nicely towards the opening round of the championship at the end of May. Galway first choice goalkeeper Ruairi Lavelle made his first appearance for the club after his transfer from Revyle this year. The Inisboffin native has tranfered to the club now that he is based permanently in the city so a welcome to Ruairi and a welcome to his first clean sheet. Next up is Tuam Stars this Sunday in third round of the league away in Tuam at 3pm TBC
Junior:
The juniors played out an exciting draw vs Killanin despite depleted numbers in their first round league game in the Prairie on Friday. But for a last minute goal by the visitors, it would have been a clean sweep for all adult teams this weekend. A special thanks to the two Kitt brothers Michael and Paddy and Eamon Kelly who rushed down from Dublin to make the game on time. Next up is Moycullen away, the weekend after next.
Junior A:
The Junior As kicked off their league campaign with an impressive 9 point win away to Spiddal on Saturday. With a host of minor players getting their first taste of adult action, the team clocked up a score of 3-17. Next up is Micheál Breathnachs away the weekend after next.
Minor:
Commiserations to the minors who lost out to Barna in the league final decider this evening by 4 points. Having lost the toss for venue, skgaa travelled to Furbo for the final where they put in an extremely impressive performance against a huge wind in the first half. Unable to kick on, Barna upped a level in the second half and got the better of the lads in the second half. The championship won't begin now until August so the skgaa will knuckle down and with a number of key forwards set to return from injury, they will have their eyes on retaining the West Board title in Autumn.

U20:
The U20s are awaiting the fixture for the West Board Final where they will play Moycullen. The winners will go on to play Mounbellew Moylough in the County Final. Mountbellew Moylough overcame Claregalway at the weekend after extra time in the North Board decider.
Juvenile Football
Best of luck to our 2 feile teams in actin this week Conor McGauran and Niall Mannion who have put in alot of training and preparation no matter the results the participation and effort has been great so get out and support the teams and keep eye out on twitter facebook for updates.

U9 training on Tuesday evenings ,now held on top pitch in St.Enda's secondary school & games/training on Sunday mornings in McGrath' Field.
U6/7 & U10/11 cancelled games and training as mark of respect to little Grace Gilmartin and our deepest sympathy to all the Gilmartin family and to David Og U11s and Paul u7Grace was a real fighter and touched so many Lives in her short life. May she rest in peace now with her little sister Annie.
U12s playing Claregalway away at 11am this Sunday morning and Barna at home, Cappagh next Tuesday at 7pm.
U16B beat Oranmore/Maree B by 3-10 to 3-9 yesterday in Cappagh Park. Next game Tuesday 24th at home vs Annaghdown.
Well done to the U13 footballers who beat near neighbours St Michael’s, in the U14B league on Tuesday evening in the Prairie. Final score was 5-5 to 3-4. Next up is Feile B at the weekend, when they play Milltown and Northern Gaels in the group stages in Milltown.
Adult Hurling
Junior & Under 21 Hurlers train tonight, Wednesday at 7pm.
Minor Hurling:
Minor A Championship Match v Ballygar which was postponed last week will take place this Sunday 22nd, 6.45pm at Turloughmore pitch. This is a massive match for the club as it is the first time in the history of SK to compete at Minor A grade. Big support is essential so head out and cheer on the lads.
Please note also that the time on Galway GAA website is incorrect. Throw in is 6.45pm.
Juvenile Hurling
Nursery Hurling is now going outdoors from this Friday and new kids welcome.. time is 5:45pm 5 and venue is Cappagh Park.
U8 Hurling
U8s Street League kicks off at 6pm on Wednesday in Cappagh. Training moves out doors on Fridays from 5:45 in Cappagh, alongside U6s and u10s.
U10 Hurling
Under 10s play Rahoon Newcastle on Friday in Tonabrucky 6.30. Day 2 of Street Leagues tonight in Cappagh Park at 7pm
U12 Hurling
U12s training Mondays 6-7pm and Fridays 7-8pm, both in Cappagh Park.
U14 Hurling
U13/14 training resumes Monday 23rd, Cappagh Park, 6-7pm
That's the Regional Galway Féile took place last weekend . We were in a tough group as all the teams where from a division above us . On Wednesday evening we travelled to Spiddal to play Cois Fharraige and lost by 9 points. Yesterday evening we had the honour of playing in Pearse Stadium, against Liam Mellows ( Group winners) . We lost by 6 points, but missed a lot of chances. Today we travelled back out to Spiddal to play the final game against Gort, and it was a very exciting game that ended all square. SKGAA 2-04 to 0-10 Gort . A big thanks to all the Players and Management. Thanks to all the Parents and Supporters for coming along and helping out . Thanks to Spiddal for all the tea and goodies today , thanks to Alan Hassett for Pearse Stadium. And last thanks to Sherry FitzGerald for the sponsorship of our U14 Féile Hurling and Football Teams . Next Friday we kick off with the Footballers in Féile. Also we are looking forward to the National Féile in June .

WLAC cycling event
Volunteers needed. The WLAC cycling event on the 28th April is a big fundraiser for hurling and other codes as well as donating half the takings to Down Syndrome Galway. We need a couple of helpers to make sandwiches and prep food on the afternoon of Friday the 27th. If you can not make it to help, any home baked scones/flapjacks/buns etc. would be hugely appreciated, and can be dropped to Arus kitchen on friday the 27th. Camogie
U10s continue to take part in street leagues each Wednesday in Cappagh. County blitzes will start in 2 weeks.
U12s play Carnmore away Saturday morning at noon in county cluster blitz competition. Training Thursday 6pm in Cappagh.
After a great win last Sunday morning against Kinvarra, U14s play B1 county semi final this Sunday morning against Na Brideoga at a neutral venue to be confimed. Training Thursday 6.45 in Cappagh. The girls are also in the middle of fundraising for feile and are running a raffle for 2 tickets to Ed Sheeran.
U16s train Thursday 7pm in Cappagh ahead of first championship match against Cois Fharraige away on Sunday at 5.45.
Juniors beat St Colman’s 7-12 to 0-0 in the league last Sunday evening in Gort. The girls play Ballinderreen in their next game at home in the Prairie this Friday at 7.15 and all support is welcome.
Ladies Football
Junior – Hard luck to the Juniors who fell short on Friday against St. Furseys in a well contested match on Friday in Cappagh. Training continues Wednesdays @7.30 in Endas.
u16 – The U16 Girls have had a quiet week with match postponements from the East Galway Group causing unwelcome delays. The Girls [25off] had an excellent training Wed 11th in Endas despite many playing earlier in the day in the School Blitzes. On Friday Six of the panel played with the Juniors against a good Gabriels Team in the Junior League in Cappagh Park. Tight game from start to finish with SK coming up short on a score of 2-4 to 3-4. Great effort by all and in particular the U16 Panellists who gave their all.
Next Up training Wed and Sat 21/4 with Gabriels U16's planned for the 1/4 Final of the League on Mon 23/4/18 in the Prairie. All Support Welcome.
u14 – U14 Girls féile has been rescheduled again. Both of our teams will now play on Sunday 29th April. Venue not yet confirmed. Training continues Wednesdays + Saturdays.
u12 – The U12a girls football team had another great victory on Monday in a wet and windy Cappagh park. They beat Caherlistrane in the Div 1 league. The score finished 5-13 to 0-2. Another great performance by the U12 (blue) team.
u12 – The U12b girls football were beaten on Friday by a very strong Ballinasloe team. It was fairly close match up to the start of the 2nd half. The U12 (green) team did very well. We had over 20 players for the match and they all got to play a part.
