Senior:
Senior Championship first round finished with a draw against Killanin on Saturday evening. Ruairi Lavelle held his nerve to stick over a late free to level the game for skgaa. After a slow start the skgaa lads finally got into the match after half time and a goal by Sean Armstrong halfway through the second half launched a reeling in mission which brought the scores level by the end of the game. The lads are not out in championship again until August as they have a bye in the next round. The league match fixed vs Carraroe this weekend is now OFF.

Ladies Football
SKu16 Girls Football Update 17th May to 22nd May 2018.
Great week for the SK U16 Girls. Crowned Div2 League Champions on Sunday afternoon after overcoming a tough and capable Moycullen team on a final score line of 3-15[24] to 3-10[19]. The Game was played in Oughterard and 25 girls travelled and togged out. This was a titanic tussle with the game tied on the 60th minute. SK finished the stronger from there on and scored 5 Quality points on the trot and finished in total control. Great credit must go these girls as when the chips were down, they together faced up to Moycullen and went on to win the Title which ultimately will probably take the Girls & SK up into Division 1.
Salthill / Knocknacarra U16 Girls Div. 2 League Champions 2018
Great credit goes as well to the coaching staff who left no Stone unturned in this Quest to win the League and made important changes over the course of the 67-70mins. They also built a never say die attitude within the team structure and mentality.
Next up is a short break before resuming light training and play some supporting roles with Junior ladies team and then the Panel will prepare for Championship come late June/early July.
Many thanks to the Umpires, Richard Connaughton and Donal Conlon who officiated in Wet Conditions and to the Mothers who have washed the Fantastic set of new Jersies. We thank the many parents who made the trip to Oughterard and showed their support.
WELL DONE SK U16 GIRLS… PROUD OF YOU.
u12 – Under 12 girls are getting better by the week. Our 2007 youngsters drew 3-4 each with a strong St Michaels side last week. This week they were pipped by 1 point by Glenamaddy in a fantastic match. Our 2006 girls won a touch match away to Headford 7-9 to 2-5 which hopefully will get us into a league final..a brilliant display. Over 45 girls now training and coaches delighted with our progress. Our kickathon/skipathon will be held shortly for our surprise trip last weekend in June. Remember, training Cappagh, Sunday 10-11 am.
u10 – Our u10 girls had a busy weekend. On Saturday we had three teams complete in the Spiddal Blitz. Then on Sunday we had 44 girls go on the trip to Croke park along with the coaches and a few parents. The girls really enjoyed the Croke Park tour and the competitive matches against St. Brigid's GAA. Big thank you to all the coaches and parents who travelled and helped out on the day. The coaches and girls are looking forward to more blitz's over the coming week.
