Juvenile Football
U9's played Barna on Sunday, lads bring the skills picked up at training into games which is great to see.We had the final night of 'street league' games last night in the Prairie which the lads really got a kick out of over the four weeks. We travel to Dublin on Sat. to play Ballinteer St.Johns in the morning & visit Croke park in the afternoon.
On Tuesday in the Prairie the finals of the U9/10s Street Leagues took place. Nearly a hundred kids played super football in very warm conditions. The standard of the football was excellent highlighted with some brilliant scores and individual performances all over the field. Each team played their final two games across four pitches.
On Pitch 3 and 4, Ballymoneen Braves, Blackrock Bombers, Cappagh Giants and Taylors Tigers all played exciting games to decide places 5-8.
In the semi finals for the cup, only the bare minimum score separated each team. Scoil Einde played Cappagh Giants ended up in the 3rd/4th place game with county referee James Molloy in the middle. Scoil Einde came out on top after an excellent contest. In the final, Salthill Sharks played Devon Devils and after an exciting game, Salthill Sharks came out on top and took the cup home for 2018. Thanks to John O'Reilly who presented the Stan O'Reilly cup to the winners.
Well done to all the kids involved, it was great to see the high standard of football played over the last four weeks. Thanks for all the coaches and parents who helped out and encouraged the kids during the games. A word of thanks to Noel Tyrell for refereeing and getting some of the SKGAA u15's to help out.

Spirited performance versus Moycullen loosing 4-12 to 0-9 on Tuesday night. Definite improvement versus last time we played them but got punished for our handling mistakes. Taking the positives out of it – lads played some better football, had more scoring chances and hit the post twice.

Ladies Football
u14 -u14 – U14 Girls Div 4 Team played Corofin in a very hot Belclare on Sunday evening in the league quarterfinals. In a really good, high scoring contest our girls lost out by a couple of goals. But this team is developing well and there is good competition for places. And as always they can't be faulted for effort. Playing more matches will bring them on a lot.
Div 1 team also played Corofin in league quarterfinals on Tuesday evening in Cappagh. The girls are developing well as a team, working hard for each other and being rewarded for their efforts. They ran out fairly comfortable winners. Semi-final next up.
u10 – Plenty of matches for the u10 the last few weeks. We had 3 teams complete in St Michaels blitz last Saturday. Training continues tonight 7-8pm in Mc Graths Pitch. Next Wednesday 13th June until Wednesday 27th June, we will have our u10 Street League. Girls showing great improvement and commitment in training.
